The family event advice is DEAD ON :D

I can't stand being seen as 'the photographer' by my family. I hate it. If I do, for whatever reason, take some shots for fun, then all of a sudden all I deal with are the demands to "make me a print, make this a print, get me prints". I sometimes consider selling all my camera gear just to get away from the idiocy.

Well, i have a rule i try to stick to for all family events and that is to get so drunk i can barely talk let alone hold a camera so i don't usually have this problem.

I thought it was hilarious.

Looks like someone doesn't care for HDR/Photoshop/macros/self-portraits/cats or much else...so after work today better shoot a self-portrait with a cat then PS the crap out of it so it looks HDR. Nyaah.

I don't think he likes HDR. LOL

Has anyone noticed he REALLY dislikes HDR?

R.

He does seem to like breast implants though.

OK, is it wrong that I like the HDR on some of the links he posted? :-)
12/03/2009 06:21:49 PM · #14
Oh, and he hates flower macros and water drops too.

That's what he wants you to think ;)

Anybody find his name? Links to his images?

Some people aren't happy unless they're unhappy. Those that excel at this aren't happy until they make those around them unhappy.

Yeah lol, and some of his stuff is so frickin cheesy I look like a genius!

The first one on the list was don't bring your camera to family events or basically events where you want to enjoy them instead of taking pictures, I have been doing this since I started my business. I bring it but leave it in the car so I don't have to photograph the whole event.

SPOT ON!!!

It's not the equipment you have, but how you use it.

If I had $157,000 I'd love to have a 50MP Hasselblad H3DII, a fully customized Profoto lighting system and every filter and gadget known to man. But guess what, your photos can still suck (they just suck with more detail).

HAHAHAHAHA

I think there's a lot of truth in that site. It's funny. And I think his portfolio is kinda fun, too.

HAHAHAHAHA

Isn't that a Ken Rockwell quote?

ETA: Anyone who says "bokeh = depth of field = blur" is wrong. The funny stuff on the site is ...funny, but the serious stuff is crap. HDR is wrong? Bokeh is blurriness? C'mon!
