| Animoto wedding videos. Any wedding photog ought to be able to resell all the same images twice ... once as stills and once in an animoto sequence set to the Bride's mother's favorite music. Figure most brides' mothers would pop around $500 for the video. |

I gotta disagree with the Doc. I think Animoto is already getting old in the industry. All of their videos look so much alike that you can spot them from a mile. Personally, I lost interest in them a year or more ago.
On a couple of other forums I'm seeing a lot of talk about Fusion videos now that they are so easy to create. Fusion being a mix of moving video and stills, created with a single camera or several and pulled together in video editing software. I have seen fusion videos done from wedding footage, engagement sessions, baby sessions, etc. Its a nice add-on and with so many dSLRs now video capable, I'm guessing it will soon be the expected norm.

That one would come at a pretty high cost though, as most people don't know how to appropriately edit video nor do they have the capacity to edit video (software or hardware wise)
I think were about due for a simpler turn. Now so many images have the lucis arts/topaz type look where they blend photo/painting type qualities together, I think you are going to start seeing a lot of "purists" popping up. Simple 1 light set ups, very minimalistic editing. Kind of like a film mentality resurgence, but applying to digital.
Fad wise, I know there was talk of "Trash the prom dress" shoots and shit like that, but I don't know if that will take off. |
