I just returned from New Orleans and I took quite a few pictures while there (approximately 130). I'd guess that about 75% of those are worth keeping. Anywho, here is my shameless plug for my new portfolio entries:

Enjoy and let me know what you think, please! :)

PS: Not all of my favorites are posted yet. They will be there in the next few days.

Lovely shots -

I've always dreamed of going to New Orleans and visiting the French Quarter. I love your doorway shots - little details that capture the essence of a place make lovely photographs.

Thanks! I love the architecture there. It's amazing how people can live right in the French Quarter with all the noise and the drunks. :)

I grew up there and it has so much character that begs to be photographed doesn't it?

I agree completely! So many photo opportunities there and even more so when you consider different lighting.

I forgot to mention that the Cuauhtemoc was a Mexican tall ship that was docked for only a few days and I happened to see it on its last day. I have more pictures that I will post later, too.

Then the doorways I took while waiting for dinner at Bayona. I just walked around and snapped any doorway that looked remotely interesting and they came out quite nicely and I'm pleased with the results even with the strange shadows.

I'm too shy to take spontaneous pics of total strangers for the most part and there were lots of people walking along the river near the aquarium. Many of whom would have made excellent subjects.

Thanks for looking!
