I used to produce and direct corporate videos. Haven't done it in four years though. Then out of the blue an old client asks me to shoot something for them. In the process, my old video editor suggests I buy a new HD video camera, saying I could sell stock footage.

Does anyone have experience with selling video stock footage? I know the rates are higher, but I'm still trying to decide. Any thoughts?

There has been a lot of talk recently about the 'future of video' and it is generally positive. iStock are VERY bullish on the idea and microstock photographers such as AndresR have started working it into their workflow. If you have the skills from before it could be a good thing for you.

Lots of people use the Canon 5D mark II
