anyone out there check out the new EVU or EOS Viewer Utility by Canon?
saw it on fredmiranda.com with link to //www.powershot.com/powershot2/customer/evu.html
supports these cams:EOS D30,D60,10D,Digibel,1D,1D Mark II,and 1Ds
anyway is a bigger download than i can tackle tonight, but wanted to find out if it could make someone move away from captureOne and back to canon's software for raw processing?

I uploaded it a few nights ago.I haven't really had much of a chance to play wiht it, but it seems to work quite well. Response time to a change is much faster than in FVU, as it seems to work on a reduced size image to do the preview, as does C1. Definitely an improvement over FVU.

From what I understand though, it seems to be a Beta version. I think it still has some bugs. Check out the threads at Dpreview.

is it an original software by Canon, though?

I stopped using the canon utilities when I got the Camera raw option in CS, it i squicker and you can see a preview of the effects of changing the settings before you actually process. I found that the Canon processor didn't really do 16bit support too well.
