I can't simply see how Nikon can be beaten.

My guess is the next champ of the Nikon family (D4) will be a blast with a crank up sensor in MP, and better video quality. Wait for it!

Those are rather impressive results given those ISO readings. I might have to start saving so I can afford a second hand one of those once the D4 comes out.

If it was up to me I would work on the lower end of ISO spectrum, increase the colour space and increase the dynamic range.

They had the D3S at the Calgary Photo Expo this weekend. Sadly I didn't get a chance to see it but apparently it will be available at the end of November. (One of the writers for Photolife is trying to get his hands on one to demo in the middle of November so you might see it out and about sooner)

And what do we suspect it will cost to capture stop action by candlelight?

I am rather surprised that very few people gave comments on these high ISO shots.

Sometimes I wonder?

I'd comment but the link just doesn't work for me
at this location. Sure would like to see them.

? The Canon 1D Mark IV reaches ISO 102400, too.

What's a Canon 1D Mark IV, and should we care?

;P

But does it completely clear the frame before the next shot?

What does "clear the frame before the next shot" mean?

Just a joke about how Canon just announced a bug with their 7D that leaves trace images of the previous frame on high speed mode. It's ok... I joke because I am a Nikon shooter that is trying to decide if I want to buy a Canon 5D Mk II. I am a PC person with a Mac, so I can joke about both sides of that fence.

I was actually not trying to compare Nikon vs. Canon, but rather emphasize the fact that Nikon sets the bar very high. The ISO 102400 shot(s) are remarkable (in the link) are simply bluffing.
