But I mean really long. I can not figure out how to do it and there must be a way, liquefy isn't working out so well. The head has to stay the same proportion though?!

Anyone have any ideas?

Here is another bright idea :D

Copy and paste via layer ...... or the neck stretching filter. ;-)

isnt there like a stretch button somewhere, that would be helpful lol

Have you tried Distort under the Transform menu?

The liquify tool should work, at least sort of, as long as you first "freeze" the head, i.e. put a mask on it to protect the areas that shouldn't be distorted.

You should be able to do that in liquidfy but you need to make sure you move everything in proportion. I would start from the top of the head and work your way down to the neck area. The other option I would consider as to just cut the head out and place it on it's own layer leaving some of the neck attached. Then move those pixels up a little and then on a third layer use the cloning tool to fill in the gap and maybe some liquidfy afterwards on a flatten layer for clean up.

But you need to move the head or the torso since the neck will be getting longer otherwise you'll have an area that looks like it was squashed in. I guess it depends on exactly how much longer one is trying to make the neck. Does this person have much of a neck showing to start with? Maybe the shoulders or clothing can be modified to make room for more visible neck? Would need to see the photo.

You can always buy a bunch of brass neck rings and add more each year, like the so-called Giraffe Women doo. May take awhile though :-)

Use portrait professional. They should still have a free trial. I forget the setting, but it automatically elongates the neck.

I wanted to do something along the lines of this.

It looks like those are just cut out faces stuck on a rock formation (or something).

Well, thank you guys for your ideas. I think this is way beyond my skill at the moment!

that one should be fairly easy as they have the cloth or what ever covering most of the model except for the face and its pretty much silouettes for the rest which means you can cut the head off put it anywhere and just paint in your neck, making small bumps here and there for effect on the sides...

I like Avedon's work, but that's just creepy and makes her look like E.T.'s wearing Audrey Hepburn masks.
