My aunt is getting married on Saturday and the plan has been to do some shots at the church and then going to the Tower Grove Park but it looks like there might be a chance of rain. Now the photography wasn't really my "job" until last week when they asked me, and since I am the good nephew that I am I said I would give it a shot. We have no back up plan for bad weather, does anyone in the St. Louis area have any suggestions on where we might do some photos after the wedding?

The best thing you can do is go down to the location and look around the area. Take a friend with you and take some test shots using different locations. Make sure you go there about the same time as your wedding party will be there. That will give you an idea of the lighting available. Look for areas that your subjects will NOT be facing the sun or squinting their eyes but make sure you have enough light to correctly expose them. |

| There are some nice pavilions in Tower Grove that you can utilize in case of spotty weather. If the weather is really bad then you could go to Union Station(good places inside and out) , the Old Court House, the Jewel box in Forrest park(subject to an entry fee per person)and the World Fairs Pavilion(also in Forrest Park) These are just a few and I would suggest calling these places in the next few days to make sure they are photographer friendly(most are I believe) and are not currently booked for some special event(though places like Union Station and the Old Court House wouldn't be booked since they are open to the public. I'm shooting a wedding on Saturday as well in Stlouis, hopefully no rain. |

Trevor gave some good advice, and I might add one other. It looks like you only have a kit lens. I might suggest running down to Schiller's and finding a nice fast zoom to rent for the wedding. Most of the churches I have been in up in that area really are going to require allot faster glass then your kit lens. Also pick up a 580EXII and toss it on the camera, and maybe buy a Stofens omnibounce to through on it to help soften and bounce some light.

| if you're on a tight budget (aren't we all) go buy a 50mm 1.8. and a cheapy (sunpak or whatever) flash. it will make things way easier and you'll love the 50mm. best $100 you'll spend in photography. |
