A national company specializing in artwork for hospitals has inquired about a one-time licensing of an, as yet unspecified, Arizona landscape from my collections for use at a hospital in Phoenix.

They have their own printing service to make the actual print so I don't have to worry about any of that. I probably will only have to supply my original post processed master file.

Here is the kicker... they want to make a 10 foot by 8 foot wall mural. I'd guess it is for a prominent location. I'm clueless what to charge. I've never had anyone ask to make a 10' X 8' print before. LOL!!!

Does anyone with experience with something like this have a suggestion?

A lot, especially if they want an exclusive license. :-)

Search the forums for a link to a stock price calculator, and/or you can go to a stock site (Getty, Alamy), and price a similar picture as if you're a customer ...

OK... I went to Getty and inquired on a one-time licensing fee to print a couple Arizona landscapes as "artwork/decore" for in-house use by a company in the medical field.

The price was $550 and $590 respectively for the two I looked at so far. That is the type of licensing I'm being asked for.

I think I know why these guys searched long enough to find me. In general decent Arizona landscapes in the Getty collection are hard to find. LOL!!!

If you have several such images you might consider submitting them to Getty ... :-)

I checked out Alamy... their price calculator for what I'm being asked for is kinda funky because they require a print size that does not make sense to me... Getty had no print size selections for their calculations... Alamy prices ranged from $375-$1300 depending on their nonsensical size selection...

So, for my WAG on this one I will probably go with $450... high enough to be reasonable and low enough for repeat business.

Btw, I am not planning to submit anything to Getty or Alamy. I don't think a lot of their landscape stuff is very good and don't want mine mixed in with that.
