...Would any of you mind taking a peek and maybe offering some critiques on any? I know its a lot to ask..but maybe just venture over, and comment on one or two...that way..if I get maybe 20 of you to click through, out of the hundreds on here, then I get 20-40 comments? That'd be a nice thing.

Hopefully if I let you guys know my comment ratio is really high for the last few challenges... usually 80% or higher, that you'd feel like you could return the favor? :) (Gotta try anything, you know? ...to motivate).

I made a recent trip to our local zoo, and got to play with my new Canon XSi (only had it about a week now)... These are my first shots with this camera... I hope you enjoy!

I'm new to Flickr, also, so if you see something I could do to enhance the viewing experience that I'm not aware of (set up, viewing, tags, etc), please let me know?

Thank you for your contribution to an aspiring photographer's ambitions!

Jessie.

I'd suggest you consider who your target audience is. If the answer is everybody, that's fine but do you really want everybody to be able to download your full-size originals?

i went and took a look. i like them a lot and i left you a couple comments. :)

what lens were you using when you took those shots? i know with the 70-300mm IS i need to stop it down to f/8 to get really sharp pics. It looked like a couple could've benefited from that. For instance, your butterfly you shot at f/11 and it is super tack sharp. Then again, at the zoo the lighting is tough and it could've been movement that caused the slightest bit of blurryness on a few shots. Or maybe you sharpened that one and not some of the others ;)

like paynekj said, it might not be the best idea to have all sizes available to everyone, although i love it for helping out with a critique.

Most shots were with my Canon EF-S 55-250 Lens. As you can see with the butterfly pic that *is* sharp... I was all the way to 250mm (a field of flowers that I couldn't encroach closer) and the fact that I was lacking in a stable place (no tripod, no benches or any stable stuff nearby) required shutter priority. The camera selected the f11 aperture on its own. Since it was so zoomed I still was able to get a narrow DOF, I think!

This is all still so new to me.. I'm approx one week into my XSi ownership and most of my knowledge is book knowledge... that website is my first application of what I've learned.

Thank you for the compliments.. Its so encouraging to hear your input.. I've been trying to apply feedback (ie. should dodge the eyes in a Harpy Eagle shot) immediately and I found myself going back through my portfolio and working to improve the eyes.... Now ingrained in my brain!

I've been trying to return the favor by visiting your Flickr accounts (if you have them) and also adding comments back.

Thanks again
Jessica
