Just looking for thoughts from others so any feedback welcome…

The engineering company I work for has asked me to take a few pictures of some new employees. They use the pictures to send off with job proposals.
I will be bringing in a couple photography lights to set up in an empty office during normal work hours. I will be taking pictures (basically head shots) for three people. There will be very minimal post processing done. Then I will be giving digital image files (both color and black and white) to them to use however they need.
It will be done during hours I normally work for them, but I figured that I would not include the time I was “taking pictures” (about an hour-setup, pictures and take down) in my normal work hours for them.
I was told that when all was said and done to “send them a bill.”

Any ideas on what would be a fair price to charge?

since no one answered you, I would say $150-250. Caveat: I have no experience in this area, but that is what I would find a reasonable price to pay given your relationship to the employer.

If at all possible, get a contract (even a super simple contract) made up before hand. I've had 'send me the bill' jobs that I'm still waiting on payment for. Contracts, contracts, contracts. Can't stress it enough if you want to get paid.

As for price, Frisca's suggestion of $150-250 sounds about right. Depends on your area, really. In my town, $200 would be what I would charge. In other places, that's dirt cheap. See what people in your area charge for similar types of shoots. Charging more sounds expensive because just three people, but keep in mind they are getting advertising rights with that.
