It would be fun, and a public service if there was a challenge with the following basis:
Find a wikipedia article without pictures, and make an image for it. The images will be released with a GPL style license and hopefully used on Wikipedia.org giving rest to some issues that they have with images. This will also get everyone's work out in a new way for the world to see.
When I read the article it just seemed like it fit with this site so well. I am not sure what the best way to work the rules would be though so I will leave that up to you guys. |

I agree, an excellent idea. |

Definitely a cool idea. Is there a way to search for non-image articles at all? It might be difficult for members to find feasible subjects otherwise. |

The first one I tried has no pictures and I just happen to have a picture for it that fits perfectly. |

According to the Alaska Crimelab, that's cocaine.
Now, if I had done the photograph, you could tell by the lighting nuances that it wasn't talcum. ;) |

Good point. I bet you could get the paper(s) to run an article about how Digital Photographers are rising to meet a real life Challenge via this site. To the papers advantage it would show that they also made a difference by writing the article in the link that resulted in a solution. |
