I dont have photoshop 7.0 or the newest version, I do have photoshop elements 2.0 (not installed). Before I install it, I was wondering if anyone knows if the basics are there to be able to resample, resize, change dpi, ect...? Most of my other photo programs are the freebies that come with cameras or printers and only offer 1 or the other, not all in the same program.

Elements will do all of those basic things. The two major things "missing" from Elements (but in Photoshop) are the Curves control (you do have Levels), and the ability to convert to CMYK format for offset printing (not an issue for photography-only use).

I am unsure this is intended to supplement his or not, but jmsetzler created a tutorial for scaling up images for printing that makes very similar suggestions...

Ok I have installed photoshop elements and went through the tutorials and I have all the basics down still not getting a good size picture for a print though.

Another question is when saving picture in jpeg should I leave the CMYK blank or check it?

Thanks so much!

What do you mean you are not getting a good size picture for a print? The whole point is you can just keep increasing the size in 10% increments until you reach the size you want.

First of all , what size is the image from camera ? Go to view & click on ruler . Then , after you've determined whether you need to up or down size , You can go to image resize to begin process . This is hardly all of it ,God knows what is , but it's a good starting point & hopefully some of the experts will lend some more helpful advice .
