You else would love to have your private messages on the dpc website itself. It's a bit inconvenient to have all private messages sent to my email were I constantly have to check my email to see if someone wrote me. All message boards/ forums have the private messages within the board with a link to click to get to them. Usually with most other boards also immediantly when you log on it alerts you that you have a message. It's a much easier and faster way to converse on the boards.

Yeah, but it means you have to be logged in and on-site to do messages. It also means your messages are not truly private, as they are stored on-site and can be accessed by admins. I don't know if admins can access sent messages in the current system, but I tend to doubt it. I kind of like it the way it is.

A good idea, though I don't find the present method to be any real hassle, and there are a lot of other enhancements to the site I would like to see first.

My email, and hence PM's, is on my home page, which I always open. I don't always open DPC, and would sometimes miss PM's if they didn't go to my email.

It's a moot point for me anyway... nobody sends me PM's... :-(

I very much doubt they are, with all the data protection malarky it's more than they dare do, one leaked message from a disgruntled staff member and bingo a massive lawsuit.

I know on eBay the powerseller support team cannot even check your messages if you give them permission over the phone, if you get harrassed in a message you have to submit a ticket so they have written proof you have authorised them to check the message (and then they are only allowed to check the one message in question frmo what I understand - yes had a situation where I needed to contact them sometime ago :p ).

Well, when it comes to yahoo or gmail or hotmail, or any of the myriad web-based mails, and I'm sure any other email provider for that matter, they aren't checking individual emails by any stretch of the imagination, but you can bet that the system is tagging specific keywords and if your email account is tagged as having a certain number and/or combination of keywords over certain periods of time, or through certain numbers of emails, etc., then your account is probably going to be investigated.
