I know you guys are itching to get to this... :)

Any topaz software is fine: Adjust, Simplify, or Vivacity. Here is a link to the software page and I think there are free 30 day trial downloads: Topaz Labs

This is open for the month of May, try and post at least 15 photos, and photos can be new or old. Just use Adjust to see what you can do with them.

To see what those outside of DPC have done with the software, you can see this Flickr group.

Here's the participants so far but anyone is welcome to join any time.

Another one of the same sand fence, way different processing:

For what it's worth: you all should be aware that any time you make a custom adjustment using Topaz Adjust, you can *save* it as a preset. This allows you to use it as a starting point for similar images...

It also allows you to remember what the settings were! I saved my Mig adjsutemnts as a preset called "Cartoony". I also beleive you can import and export presets. I doubt they take up more than a couple of K each. We could easily share them.

Let me check...

I did this one awhile ago and I don't remember what adjustments I made.

Hope you don't mind me posting, ok, a bit abstract, but my first attempt with TPAZ ( and yes, flood )

I would enjoy coments on this one. I want to enter it in the state fair this year, it is one of my favorites and think it might do well.

Presets take up under half a Kilobyte in size. I only have 20 Meg of free webspace at charter, but at this size, I could still host a ton of these if anyone wants to share them in one place during the challenge.

FWIW, here's my "Nightmares" entry, which is, obviously, majorly, even catastrophically overprocessed: gawd, I love it! :-) Processing steps, as best I can remember them, are in comments field. I was just winging it, and not really keeping track, sorry.

Here's the original:

Made a comment re: flatness. Here's a quick attempt at addressing that issue, with street and sky selections, additional contrast in building, gradient burns street and sky:

I guess I do notice the flatness. I could also have masked out the sky to make the building stand out more but that would have removed the drama. If you or anyone else wants to play with the original, you can find it Here

I'll slow down pretty soon - actually I started playing rather intensely as soon as I got the program.
So far, most of mine have turned in to what probably would be called 'illustrations'
rather than photographs at this point. Gee whiz, though, this is fun.

Here are three more, steps are on the images:

Thanks so very much for telling how you made the very effective changes seen here.

This was taken in a back alley here in Saginaw. A graffiti lovers dream.
