I take it by Tacks we actually mean those things that hold paper on a pin board, what I would call drawing pins?
04/15/2009 12:07:08 AM · #2
That would be my impression.

Edit: for spelling

i believe this has something to do with the 15th being the deadline to file tax papers.

Yes, or small nails ("carpet tacks"), push-pins, etc. Of course, someone will probably observe that since this challenge is timed for the deadline for US residents to file their taxes and PUNish us with an "alternative" interpretation.

Yeah, that's back when I was willing to bleed for my entries.

Yes, drawing pins and tacks are the same thing:

There are other kinds of tacks as well (more like nails).

I probably won't enter, but thanks to the that other "tax", I've got a different challenge with a deadline today. I love the idea of 24-hour challenges, I just wish they were 48-hours instead. :-P

This is going to tax my brain :)

Drawing pins are also called °thumb tacks°. In the other hand, °carpet tacks° are a bigger version of what Art Roflmao used in his last tacks entry.

Maybe that was too much blood and gore.
Too much sacrifice for only half way. Number 111th was even bloodier.

It's definitely TACKS TIME!

My boyfriend always calls them "push pins" instead of tacks. We went to the store once to buy some and each of us thought the other was hunting down the wrong thing.

I was just about to ask the same question. Are push pins tacks? I think of tacks as looking more like a 'T' and a push pin having the more deeply shapes plastic or metal head.

I'm thinking both types will qualify for this, I just call them all tacks, maybe it's a California thing? Like how I never say pop.

Given that 9 of the top 10 in the last challenge used pushpins, I'm gonna guess you're right.

No tacks for me, major thunderstorm coming up, have to close down my computer. LOL should have happened yesterday, then I wouldn't have sucked in that Lighting challenge as I do now.

This might be a daft question but do we have a week to vote on this challenge?
