Can anyone help me with this? So I go to use my camera and find that there is a spot showing up on the middle of my photos. Thinking is was the lens I clean that and the filter attached. No luck. So I try a different lens. No luck. It looks like a blur on quick shutter speeds but when I slow it down, it get more intense. Any ideas?

Gunk on the sensor. You need to clean your sensor.

Looks to me like sensor dust. It will show up blurry at large apertures and sharp at small apertures.

Yep, ditto about the dust buffalo. They multiply rapidly, so be ready for that if you don't get it out soon.

Thanks all. Now can I clean this on my own or do I need to take it to a professional?

If you do it right and carefully you can do it yourself.
Search for the Copperhill method. Follow instructions exactly...

I have a very similar spot of dirt on my sensor, but it's up against the edge where it is often cropped out anyway and is easy to clone out if needed. Cleaning the sensor myself does not seem to get rid of it, but it's not really in a problem location for me. Yours is in a more difficult spot.

Yep, very difficult to crop out with it being almost exactly in the center! ;)

I had a dust spot and I cleaned it myself! I was lucky though. I put the shutter to "bulb" and held it facing down. I then took a cleaning blower and blew air inside the camera. This may not work though... If it does not I would bring it to a professional.

I recently cleaned my Sony DSLR A700 for the first time and it worked well. I imagine the menu is similar on the A300, so here is what I did. The next to last item on the Sony A700 Menu -> Tools is "Cleaning mode". I turned this "on". This locks the mirror up and you can hear this happening for confirmation. At this step it even checks that you have sufficient charge in the battery before it allows and the instructions were to start with a fully charged battery. I kept the camera with the lens pointing downward, removed the lens, blew air up onto and around the sensor using a bulb air blower, put the lens back on, and then turned the camera power off which triggers the mirror dropping back down (again you can hear this happening). Hope the helps. PS. Using a bulb air blower was recommended over using any pressurized cleaning product as under some circumstances the latter can damage the sensor.
