My sister, next door neighbor, and biz partner has joined the show.  Cebuloulou has decided to start joining in on the challenges. As an NYIP graduate, she is sure to give us some competition.

Welcome Kelly.
This place is sure to help keep you grounded photography wise. Just when you think you are starting to "get it", you will enter a great pic and get a nasty score that will make you doubt your abilities. That is when you need to step back and look at it from the proper perspective, that what the dpc voters and commenters think is only as important as you think it is. That is the key. :)
By all means you can learn a ton from the great people here (even some of the annoying ones...hey is that a squirrel I see Slippy?) however sometimes you have to be able to take it all with a grain of salt. |

You don't have to be mad to be here, but it sure helps
Hide the Update button while you still can........its like pringles, once you start.......well you know the rest.
Be careful of Art coming along to burn your village. I see Slippy hasn't scared you away (yet)......He is harmless........

One piece of information to save a small amount of your sanity (the rest was confiscated when you came through the door)
Realize that even your best picture with get a couple of 1s and/or 2s. Expect it from the beginning so you're not shocked. there are trolls in them thar' hills--and they run in packs!

Edited to add: Oh, and by the way, anything that looks remotely like it could be my picture, you should automatically give a 10. Don't bother even looking to see if you like it--this is one of the rules on this site. :) |
