My sister and her husband, who currently share a domicile with me, recently had a baby (he's five months old). I haven't had the time up until this point, but my sister has given me open permission to take whatever photos I want, and after talking it over with her, it seems like a great opportunity to try to take some Stock-intended baby photos, and start making back some of the gobs of money they're having to spend on formula!

I've done some research on stock photography here and elsewhere, but I'm still new to the whole thing. I can worry about agency later; right now I'm just focusing on taking the photographs. Does anyone have any suggestions, or have any idea what sort of baby-photography might sell?

I was gonna SAY: it's easy with the young ones, but once they start crawling a shotgun is your best bet :-)

Well now that the peanut gallery has spoken... :P..... dude, with lil' ones you must allow A LOT of time. You cannot control their mood, you can't say "sit here and smile", you have to deal with baby as baby is. Sometimes they are great, sometimes not. To get great shots, you need to be reactive to their every mood, while keeping lighting and image purpose in mind. You gotta shoot fast with a lot of light 'cause they move fast and you'll get blur otherwise. And most of all, my best suggestion..... be patient and wait for baby to do what baby does naturally. With some creativity and patience, you'll get great shots.
