As usual, there are some shots I thought would have scored higher this week. Here''s what I liked and why:

29: Five O''Clock Shadow (the watch one) - Loved the play on words.

57: Ultimate Shadow - I''m sorry, an eclipse is a shadow. Sure, the photographer was lucky to have access to an eclipse, but photography is part skill and part luck.

67: Eyes - Yeah, it''s my best friend, so I''m probably biased, but I try not to let it affect my vote. I thought the composition on this was flawless, and I actually like the low lighting. I think as much as anything else, this one suffered from a poor choice of title.

70: Two to the third - Loved the play on words. The two is obvious, bicycle tires. 2^3 = 8, notice the shadow makes an "8" on the ground.

106: Bubba Hitchcock - I love the humor here. It made me laugh out loud, and that''s much more of a response than most photos can invoke.

139: the engineering marvels of general electric [aka where''s the butter] - If you picked up on the title, this was taken inside the refrigerator... Hilarious once I figured that out. I gave him a high score for just having the guts to do this.

-Terry

An Eclipse is defnitely a shadow.

The side of the moon that is facing us is in shadow.

I saw a lot of very narrow definitions of what a shadow is this challenge. Mainly cast shadows scored the best but a shadow does not have to fall from a subject or rather the shadow does not have to be cast onto another object. Disappointing that photographers felt this way.

Ha! You stole my post!

Well, this was the first week that I really knew which photo would win, because myself and two other people who had really different tastes all gave it a 10. Well done! I also knew Bad Hair Day would place.

Most of my favourite photos were ranked pretty well this week. Here are my list of photos I think deserved more:

26: asleep - it really grabs me.
41: The Shadows of Time
49: Braided Silver - such a nice simple photo of such a beautiful thing.

77: Glass Flowers
79: tantra
91: In the Seat of my Chair
93: Web Rose
95: Midnight Caravan
100: Dancing Elves

-All of this group are photos I gave 9s to, and really liked for their creativity, but placed very low.

102: Soul Shadow - I gave it 10, but he's a friend of mine so maybe I'm biased :)
114: Keiko Kamping - one of those photos that seems to have lots "wrong" with it but still grabs me

There are always more photos I could mention, but that'll do this week.

Congrats to this weeks winners, I gave #1 & #4 both 10's and all those around high scores so i'm not that surprised, however, Moonlight Sonata by jmsetzler deserves my Honorable mention for being a great photo. I'd better start chowing down on that camera now john.
Thanks for the comments on my photo "Hunter". Really surprised that all those who commented didn't realise that it wasn't actually a cat at all, but rather a cardboard cutout. I waited all week for a "Wheres his whiskers comment". oh well, good luck for this week every1 ;-)
