Comcast won't let me mail files larger than 10MB. The web page doesn't seem to let me either.

Is there the same limit on hotmail? Are there other no-fuss options for me to get a file to somebody?

www.yousendit.com
Simple and fast. It's free for basic services. You dont' even have to sign up, but the link lasts for only 2weeks.

edit: sorry, that's 7 not 14days.

Is the file still too big if you zip it?

Thanks Techo. That looks to have done the trick (I hope). Gallery man wanted a file quickly and email seems so 1995 with it's 10MB limit. :)

Haha. OK, Ted just said he found the file after all. Doh!

But this is a great little site to remember. I'm definitely going to use it in the future.

Great :)
I'm glad you got things straightened out.

Doh, where I mentioned 2weeks, I re-read the info on the site and it's only 7days.

I use Yousendit as well. I used to use dropload.com, but it started having issues.

The best way to send any large files is the site called drop.io. It allows you to protect your "drops", store files for free up to 100mb, store for 1 year after last visit, etc. Check it out!

I use mac.com > iDisk > shared files on Mac OS X. DropBox is a simple and elegant solution. It's available for both platforms.

For this type of thing I like senduit best. Very quick - no registration required and you get a link that lasts up to seven days.

I *heard* that gMail accepts attachments up to 25MB, but the recipient's service must also take that large a file.

With hotmail, you can get a skydrive that lets you upload and share files up to 5GB. You can store stuff so that only you can access it, so that only those you specify can access or so that it is public, or any combination of the three, depending how you set up the folders. You can then email the link to a specific person for them to download the file from there.

It's the only one I've used but have been more than happy with it.
