Hi,

Myself and another photographer recently setup our own retouching and restoration business in the UK. We have used the new Microsoft Silverlight technology, which is similar to Adobe Flash? I would love to get your feedback on the site.

www.retouchgenie.com

We have already started taking some fairly sizable orders and if growth continues we would be looking to expand our retouching team. Would this sort of work appeal to anyone here? If so please let me know.

All the best

Spencer

Ok, I'll bite :-)

The homepage is a little busy. The color scheme is unusual, but that's not a bad thing. I like that it isn't a black background, they hurt my eyes.
The side by side example slideshow on the home page is a good idea, but I think it moves a little too slowly.
I wonder if some people get confused about whether they can do their own editing on your site or if they pay for you to do it for them? The answer to that isn't painfully and immediately obvious.

I appreciate that you're not playing music at me - that always makes me run right away.

Do you really need to make almost EVERYTHING dependent on an account? I like to check out a site before I sign up for it - having no access to anything would probably turn me away. Things like the help section and videos, for instance, could be open, couldn't they?

The example gallery is very annoying. There are way too many clicks to see each photo, its before and its after. I would much rather just see them side-by-side, and have a simple arrow (including keyboard) to move through them, as well as the option of an automatic slideshow.

Would I like to join the retouching team? Quite possibly yes - depending on conditions.

I hope that was the sort of feedback you were looking for. Good luck with it!

ETA: I just found out that I can get to the helpfile via the top link, but not via the link in the bottom right text box on the homepage - might as well make THAT link work, too, instead of taking me to the sign up page yet again.

just a couple of additional comments: I could not access the example gallery on a mac/safari browser

The home page photos cycled a bit slowly for my taste (and a way to click for the next one would be nice)

Good Luck!!!

I couldn't actually see anywhere that told me how much anything would cost - there's a "From" splash on the home page but that seems to be it. Unfortunately, when a site insists I register before telling me how much anything is going to cost, I automatically assume they're doing that because it's so expensive that I wouldn't sign up if I knew...
