I'm trying to put together a windows movie maker slideshow of pics I took of my best friend's baby, but I can't for the life of me find any good songs about babies or little boys, etc. I need at least a few song ideas because the slideshow will be pretty long. A little help please?

OK, no Country. I can certainly understand as I'm not much for country myself, but that song holds some personal memories for me & my son so it popped right into my head when I saw your post.

A couple other ideas not specific for babies, but nice songs for kids:

Upside Down by Jack Johnson

We're Going to Be Friends by White Stripes... also recorded by the Jack Johnson

I can't find this anywhere, not on youtube or iTunes. Does it have a different title?

good suggestions. I think I will definitely use "We're going to be Friends" by White Stripes as the last song for chronological significance since it talks about school, etc. He is only 2 so far but it still applies since he knows all of the numbers and letters already. I might use upside down as the middle song but I'm not sure if she like that song, I'll have to ask (personally I can't help but think of Curious George whenever I hear it).

I was also thinking of sticking in "Always be my Baby" by Mariah Carey (That's more my friend's style of music). Other ideas? these are great so far!

OK, this is always the hard part of a slideshow isnt it? It can make or break it, so its gotta be good!

Some ideas: Father and Son - Boyzone (think there may also be a Cat Stevens version)

if the baby has blue eyes... Blue Eyes - Elton John

I'll think of more as the day goes on... Hehe

Precious - Annie Lennox

Is a great song for people who have had a long hard road to becoming a parent!

Lyrics

Oooh, I was lost until you came.
Tell me why I must’ve been so blue.)

Precious little angel
Take a look what you’ve done.

But I was lost until you came.

Precious little angel
Take a look at what you’ve done.
Well I thought my time was over
But it’s only just begun
Precious little angel
You’re my own sweet turtle dove
Won’t you stay with us for ever
In a bundle full of love

Well I was lost until you came

Precious little angel
Won’t you spread your light on me
I was locked up in the darkness
Now you’ve come to set me free
I was covered up with sadness
I was drowned in my own tears
I’ve been cynical and twisted
I’ve been bitter all these years.

Well I was lost until you came
Well I was lost until you came

And wouldn’t I run a thousand miles
To be with you, to be with you
And wouldn’t I run a thousand miles
To be with you, to be with you.

Well I was lost until you came

Precious little angel
Tell me how can it be true
That such a gift from heaven
Has been sent for me and you
Precious little angel
Don’t you worry, don’t you cry
When this bad old world has crumbled
I’ll be standing at your side

Well I was lost until you came.
Well I was lost until you came.
(Yes I was)
Well I was lost until you came.
Well I was lost until you came.
Well I was lost until you came

To jump on the Jack Johnson bandwagon -- anything from the Curious George soundtrack. My two-year old loves the movie and the music is great. I especially like Upside Down.

Slumber My Darling--Allison Krauss and YoYo Ma.......this is my all time favorite lullaby.

Besides that, look for anything Kenny Loggins off of Return to Pooh Corner, or More Songs from Pooh Corner. There's some really good stuff on those albums.

If you choose Jack, I think I would go with "Angel" Which is a little more on base with having a baby as well as being a nice mellow tune. I am going to use Upside Down in a video I am making of my 3 yearold son who lately has been turning everything upside down and or tearing it apart. Yesterday he put a hole through the drywall with a magic marker. I swear anything in his hands instantly becomes a WMD. When i finish the video I will be sure to post it for DPC to see.
