I will never pay to re-sign to this site...one reason:

Hahn23 sent me a PM:

Hi Kenny Skidmore,

Your comments on my images, post challenge, are upsetting and not helpful. Please do me a favor and refrain from adding comments to my images. It would be most appreciated.

Sincerely,
Richard Hahn

Here are my last two comments to Hahn23:

Comment:
Very nice picture...probably underrated....however, I can't imagine what comment you could have made that would have required you to censor yourself !

Hmmm...the 1, 2, and 3 scorers kept you off the front page for sure. I wonder if it is time for some "mathematical" throwing out of lows and highs.

Am I losing my freaking mind or are my comments that far out of line ???

Move to rant if you must.

EDIT: Check out all of my comments to Hahn23 and all others.

I don't understand why SC would even remove the first comment. I thought it had to be something bad to get removed?
01/29/2009 10:01:27 AM · #3
I wouldn't let that bother me too much. It's just one person. Life's too short to let the few ruin it. There is proportionally/exponentially that much good that goes on here on a daily basis. It's up to you to decide which side to see.

In hoping you stay,
Matthew

I seem to remember that Hahn23 a couple years back bullied his way around DPC and another photography site.

Bullies, know it all's, wikipedia Adventists, getting the last word in types, and people that think they know everything about you still roam this place called DPC, harsh mellows, and ruin the whole idea of what DPC is about.

April will not come soon enough.

Oh, Then how did it get removed?

I don't think SC removed it...the commentor removed it at photographers request. The point is ...is that my comments are NOT OUT OF LINE.

You are correct...check out hahn23's comments in a past "wildlife" challenge...if the picture looked like it was in a zoo or reserve...Hahn23 beat the hell out of the photo.

Hahn23 is a known hothead... He frequently caused problems over on another site with his "I know everything about photography and you don't know anything" attitude. Most arrogant and unhelpful.

Here is a hahn23 comment from a wildlife challenge...the photo won a ribbon:

Sly Fox Versus Sly Photographer!
by Ivory

Comment:
Beautiful! Where are your comments on location. If this is a zoo shot, I'll be really disappointed! There is no environment showing, so it dnmc, unless you tell us this was shot in the wild. Yes, I am challenging you here!

How is this helpful?

Here is another:

Predator
by jerowe

Comment:
Wow, beautiful tiger, but not in natural environment. You wouldn't have survived this encounter in the wild.

Is that helpful?

What a goober!

Wildlife is still wildlife even in the zoo. They didn't just become farm animals.

Maybe all should do a quick review of the many dozens of comments on my images left by kenskid in the post challenge time period. They don't have much to do with constructive criticism. I'm not going to list the highly offensive and stupid ones here, due to space constraints. They stand on their own as reasons why I've personally asked him to refrain from commenting on almost every one of my images in the post challenge. Is he doing this to others? I don't think so. I think he's on a mission.
01/29/2009 10:16:04 AM · #13
Kenny, looking back at your last three pages of comments made (30), 7 of them were made to hahn23. That seems like a high percentage.

FYI, there's another recent thread with a K10DGuy/Hahn exchange about removing the comment.

List them Hahn23 ...List them....

EDIT: On a mission? What mission is that hahn?

Are you going to tell me that NOONE else here has certian photographers they check out each challenge? I look at IreneM, Lovethelight, and Hahn23 for starters....

I can comment on some, none or all.....SC CAN KICK ME OFF if I'm breaking any rules.

And, I didn't ask for SC removal of that comment. I did flag the stalking nature of Kenskid's pattern of leaving comments on my images in the post challenge.

I've sometimes left a high amount of comments on one person because I was browsing through their portfolio. I'm not following what was actually offensive.
01/29/2009 10:21:05 AM · #18
Hahn...I will ask you to stop using the phrase..."stalking nature" to describe me. It is insulting and sounds like I'm doing something AGAINST THE LAW !

I agree. I'm still waiting to see that.

Same here. Of course it is because of the handfull of people that resent comments that I don't comment as much as I first did, and hardly ever comment during a challenge anymore.

I see SC has already posted in this thread, which surprises me...

What happened to the forum rules, for example #11, 12, and 14?

#11 for illustration:

"Do not attack other users. This includes "calling out" specific comments or commenters in a hostile manner. Personal attacks are never appropriate in a constructive discussion. If you disagree with another participant, address their points without attacking them personally. Be aware that others may have differing opinions of a personal attack, so use care when posting. Please note that this includes publicly "calling out" commenters (whether by name or not) in a hostile way."

Other rules viewable here --> Forum Rules

I may be breaking forum rules myself by posting this...if so, SC feel free to remove/hide this post.

People are here to get comments. People make such a big deal about negative comments. In this world we get all kinds. I learned that since Kindergarden. You can call me names, but if you throw stones, don't you hit my car.

Even movie stars in the public eye get all kinds of negative and positive publicity and comments. They learn to live with it. Unless its financially hurting and the defamation of character is involved.

ADDED:
Yes, I agree "Personal attacks are never appropriate".
I may address some, but I will never cry about them. Or let them influence my thinking of this wonderful website.
