pics aren't showing up on my page

Anyone else having this problem? When I go on to my profile page some pics are coming up blank with that little x in the corner. I can still click on them and it will direct me to the picture page.

Same with the little pics on the left margin when you are on a picture page. The little thumbnails have the same thing. Is it my computer or is this happening to anyone else?

I'm not having the problem, but could they be being blocked by an adblocking program? Sometimes when those things update it will randomly block things like that. For example, I use the browser Firefox and its Adblock program occasionally takes away the thumbnails on my friend's DeviantArt page. I just have to go to the adblock icon in the upper corner of my page and tell it to unblock the page.

I just did that actually. lol Everything comes up fine for me.

ETA: I tried it in IE real quick too and some of the pictures there aren't loading for me either; I'm getting that little red x. Just a handfulof them in your About Me section. The other thumbnails seem to load fine. So maybe its an IE thing, if that's what you're using.

Yes, some of them are missing.....I am using IE. I actually noticed a lot of pics missing the past few days, not sure if that's the same now or not.

Yeah, that's exactly what I get too.

ETA: Huh, so I opened it in Firefox again to compare some settings, and now the thumbs aren't coming up there either. It brings up text links instead. Weird..

If I right-click on the text link I get in Firefox and select "View Image" it gives me the "The requested URL /images_challenge/763/thumb/606729.jpg was not found on this server." message, which leads me to believe that there's something wrong with the link. You might want to try re-adding the missing images to your profile to see if that corrects the links. Otherwise, may be time to contact an admin.

This happened to me several days ago. NONE of the thumbnails were showing up in the forum threads -- just lots of little red x boxes.

I am also getting the same sort of thing with the place holders, but not thumbs showing up. It seems more of a minor thing, but it does make you wonder what's different. Maybe it is a security programming thing.

You should be able to fix this by resaving your preferences.

You may have to fix some of the [img] or [url] tags in your BIO (and make them proper [thumb] tags.

Just to clarify, if you starting doing your profile thumbs with this code a long time ago:

[ url=//dpchallenge.com/image.php?IMAGE_ID=50362][ img]//images.dpchallenge.com/images_portfolio/12253/thumb/40301.jpg[ /img][ /url]

You don't have to do that anymore. And it was a problem because some of the folder names you see in the URLs had changed.

Now (and I'm told for the last two years) you could simply type:

[ thumb]50362[ /thumb]

I just fixed my profile, and changed those really long and obfuscated links to a delightfully short thumb notation!

I think it's great! (Note, I inserted some spaces above to prevent the code from being translated.)

I also have noticed from time to time lately that when I am looking at an image, the thumbs on the left side that link to other images in that portfolio section or gallery don't show the image but do link to the next, or previous image. Of course now I can't find an example to post. :P

This seems to be working now in my portfolio. (haven't checked all folders but the ones I tried showed the thumbs on the left) - I'll have to try when I get home to see if it makes a difference as to what computer the site is accessed from.

haven't read entire thread but in ref to the OP I noticed that happening the past couple of days On the frame on the left, Some of the photos in my portfolio had blank thumbs with the red x. The links work however and full size photos show up. I am pretty sure the thumbs in the cell above it for the challenge images where all working.
