Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM

Thought I'd share a recent development in my photo world. A local gallery is exhibiting a "California" show this month and I was asked to be the guest artist. Basically this means I received a second glass of Chardonnay at the welcome night! :)

The gallery is two years old and is a grass roots kinda thing. It is located at one end of our local camera store and shows about 40 pictures per month. If you are in Modesto, look it up!

I am showing 10 prints, all taken in California. The largest one is 20x30(my Yosemite shot) and the others are 16x24 or 12x18. It was really fun seeing the large prints. I have one request to buy the Yosemite shot, but they want something closer to 24x36 or 30x45. Hmmmm, it will be fun to see if my file will hold up at that size. (it is an almost full crop from the 5D so I hope it does)

Congratulations, Mark!! Enjoy that second glass of Chardonnay and the probable sales! And you know, if you do decide to sell that Yosemite shot, kindly let us know here. I'd love to have one.

great, great work. If I'm up in modesto I'll be sure to stop by. I'm hoping to take a California inspired photo-road trip this year, however I think it will be quite difficult for me to live up to your photos.

Mark, big congratulations!
I could only imagine how your Yosemite shots looks in print.

With your 5D I wouldn't worry about printing that big, 24x36 should be fine. I had a 20x30 prinout look great, and the shot was taken with my 20D(8mp) vs 5D (12mp)

You didn't give very good directions, I know Modesto isn't the biggest city but some specifics may be in order. :P
Congrats on the exhibition, I might try and pop down and see it!

Those are wonderful photos to exhibit! I have always loved that forest path shot of yours - it is so rich!
