POSTING LINK: Wild Things Side Challenge

Casual side challenge: The subject is wild things (your interpretation). Advance sign-up welcome, but you can join up any time (even after the challenge is under way). I'm going to go for 1-2 per week, but that is open to interpretation too.
Please comment on three pics for every one that you post, of course commenting on more is even better. The amount of, or lack of, processing is open to interpretation also. I like to play, so I'll be learning different photoshop functions as I go.

For those that just want to head to the link of people who have contributed shots so far ... look for the *.

Welcome everyone,
We are already started, compliments of Jess. Unfortunately I'm a bit under the weather, so I'll start soon, as soon as I feel some energy.
Wildlife beware photographers are armed and ready for capturing them (in photos, of course)!!

It's a good time of year here in the swamp for me to get bird shots, so I expect that most of my photos for this thread will be birds.

Stupid question I know, but how do I make the picture actually show?

If you use the little picture icon (7th from the left on top of the comment box) it inserts the code for you and all you have to give it is the Image ID. The code it inserts uses "thumb" instead of "img" as a tag. Quote my response and you'll see what I mean.

I haven't forgotten about this side challenge, really I haven't, but I've been more or less snowbound at a friend's for several days. I don't expect to be home till later in the week but I will try to get some comments in, at least, and I think we may venture out today so perhaps I'll find something wild under all the snow!

Another drivers seat shot. I was coming out of a side road, and there were 5 of these getting water from a ditch. I changed lenses and got a couple of shots before they all disappeared into the woods. They blend right into the background when they are in the woods as you can see from this photo.

And a sort of experimental one from me:

It took me a few days to get any wildlife images at all. Not the best I have taken but I'm just trying to contribute.

I got several eagles but I posted this one in hopes of some advice. The dark line in this shot is actually a tree branch that was right in front of me. Does anyone have any advice on how to get rid of it or maybe blend it in? I tried, but it still looked like a line, just a lighter shade.

A local sand hill crane. This is another drive up shooting.

I am enjoying this side challenge! :)

OK, so I didn't take this today, but I did process it for the first time today. It's a start!

I told Waddy MelonMusketeer That if I could find a pic of our Eastern Turkeys I would post it here. So I found 2 that I took last winter. I know that it isn't in the spirit of this side challenge, but I wanted folks to see the difference between the two sub-species.

Anyone that wants to use existing shots processed before or just now ... feel free. Remember this is a side challenge where you can do whatever you feel like as long as you comment on other contributors entries and have something wild (animal, person, vegetable, fruit, scenery--wild according to your definition--etc.) shown. A free and easy side challenge!!
