now i am looking at 3 units of 2tb configurations which i wanna run RAID 1

i have the dns-323
if you look at it be sure you update the firmware
dnm thing was an expencifve brick till i did ..

You might want to look at a Drobo as well, I have 2 here and 1 at my parents and LOVE them. and you are not restricted to matching sizes of drives. For the record I'm no stranger to RAID arrays as well, I have 6TB mirrored here as well on 2 servers, but really growing fond of the Drobos :)

only issue is drobo is rather pricey, not easily available (staying in Malaysia) and proprietary format (read in some reviews and user reviews)
