Hi!

I had a copy of CS3 on my laptop ( os: windows) which was stolen. Now I picked up a Powerbook from Apple and I contacted the Adobe customer service and asked them if I could use the same license and run CS3 on mac. They are fine with the license part, but they can't ship CS3 to me anymore as the current version is CS4 and I can only upgrade to CS4...

I want to download CS3 for Mac and give it a try (use my serial number) as I don't want to pay another $200 to upgrade, I am very happy with CS3 and don't really need an upgrade.

Where can I download ( if possible) CS3 for mac ?

thanks for your help
-Gaurawa

The first link goes to CS4 download.

The second one looks like it should work. Thanks!

You could always FTP the site and look around.

ftp://ftp.adobe.com/

they all just have the 10.01 version updater, which won't install without 10.0 version already installed

Normally i wouldn't recommend this...but Limewire.

You could use torrents if you are familiar with them.

tried all the links and they all end up with this file 'ps1001.dmg' which is also available from the Adobe Support and its only an 'Updater'. I tried it and it ends up with no previous installation to update message.

yeah, adobe's being real stick in the muds with cs4...

I visited a special Adobe booth that they set up at the Uni for a few days and the guy showed me something like 8 features that are "new to CS4" that make it great.

All but one of them are already present in CS3. The other one is this stupid Bridge interface that is totally inappropriate for large batches. Yawn.

I asked them about student versions since I try to recommend this to fellow photo club members and they quoted me a CS3 educational version roughly double the net advertised price in the US. bleh. The reason for the price increase was that they 'didn't have any more copies of CS3'. They encouraged me to just recommend to go to CS4, but I told them that I didn't see why I would since CS3 is still quite suitable for me and I think it should be suitable for anyone else too. Seems like a logic problem there. Older should be cheaper right?

If you have already legitimately purchased it, I don't see a real ethical issue with just torrenting the durned thing.

i have the full, install file for CS3 - though i don't know if it will work on a Mac...
file name is PHSPCS3_WWE.exe or ADBEPHSPCS3_WWE.exe ? . if it will work i don't mind passing it along, since you';; need your own SN to register it... it's a legit copy i purchased.
