I'm getting ready to order a MacBook Pro. I have read all their qualities and benefits.
Now I am polling the masses.
Which would be the best one for me. I am for sure going with the 15", unless someone can prove it better.
I am going to use it primarily for photos and will use Photoshop CS3 (or 4 considering when I decide to buy..) for enhancing, enlarging...etc...
It will also be used to take with me to enable clients to view final ad content. (saved in pdf form). I am also a graphic designer.
I would just love the feedback.
Thanks so much,
Becky

I just got the MacBook Pro 17". Awesome laptop. I'm charting my progress with it in this thread (just added my latest impressions). If you can do it, the larger screen is definitely worth it.

This is the one I have and I LOVE it. I bought cheap 4GB of RAM and this thing just rocks. Adobe CS3 runs like a dream on it. I see no hurry to upgrade to the newest MacBook Pro, this newer "old" one is just on it's heels for $700 less. Can't beat that. I could go on. A purchase you definitely wouldn't regret.

17" all the way .. that's what I have and I love it. If I had gotten a 15" I would have upgraded after the first year!

I have the 2008 mac book pro 15"(the one before the latest) as the 17" surpassed my budget and also for better portability. I am now considering a second large screen for comfort at home.
Working on this mac book is a real joy. Considering graphic work, I can't say anything.

I have the 17" Mac Book Pro ... it's about two years old now, and I love it. I was considering the 15", but based on advice from Katmystiry, I went with the 17" and soooo glad I listened to her!

I have the 15" because I travel a lot. It is perhaps almost too large to use on a plane when not in the big seats, but mostly ok. I think the 17" would be worse. The 15" is a bit bulky even for travel but I do love all the screen area when I get there. My last travel laptop was a 10" sony so it's quite a change.

I typically plug it in to a large screen when at home.

Make regular backups because the two people whom I know to have MacBook Pro's both had harddrive failures. This of course is necessary for all systems. Both do very intensive graphical work. The first failed after two weeks, the second after a year or so.

Get the biggest LCD you can afford and carry. You won't regret it.

For backup I would suggest you go with the time capsule. It works great and also functions as your wireless router if you like plus you can hookup other devices to it for wireless use such as a printer or another disk.
