Oh no! Not another. Has "Looking Through A Filter" been DQ'd now? After the second place "Wheels" challenge entry being DQ'd....

It did seem to be heavily composed of three or four original images which isn't to my taste but if it was voted second it is a shame it has since been DQ'd. Anyone know why?

Good question.

Because it is against the rules? Compositing from several images = not good.

There are also several other threads about this. Have a look around, and Thou Shalt Find.

In my opinion, it is legal under the existing Advanced Editing rules and should not be disqualified.

What labuda did was entirely within the bounds of the rules, as they are currently worded.

ohh God for how long are we gonna have to listen to this?

It was a desicion of the admins that this is not what we are here for, and so be it......
There must be some other place for heavily digitized stuff like you clearly love to to, and might I say you are very good at it too.....

Good luck to you but lets stick to old fashion photography...(or maybe not that old fashioned)

Surely if the image was composed of other images, it is an infringement on the rules, specifically the one below:

"Your entry must come from a single photo, taken during the week of the challenge. No multi-image compositions, no layering of multiple exposures, no copying-and-pasting elements from other photographs (even those taken during the challenge week), etc."

Although, a good multi image composite, there is good reason for disqualification.

wow, how can people get upset about every single thing that happens on this site?

meen, I think I won't read a single thread here again.
I wish you peps could just keep going on, regardless of who submits what and what is DQ'ed out for whatever.

just read something about DOF or shutter speeds, try to improve yourselves.

bye.

Really, you should first read through the pages and pages of numerous threads complaining that that photo had not been disqualified.

Yeah, you'd probably get fewer complaints and what-not if a verification period was inserted between voting and results viewing. Hell, make the voting period only 5 days and have a 2-day verification period. Or just start the verification prior to voting ending (you could analyze the data to see roughly when top-N results are close enough). If verification is relatively opaque, you can be pretty firm about it too. That todo list ain't gettin' any smaller.

Just make everyone who submits a picture, be required to submit the original with it?

I started a thread about this, regarding the Worth1000.com. This is a site that has challenges for Photoshop altered images. It is really quite interesting, even if you are not into using Photoshop for this sort of thing. You should check it out!
