about an hour ago I came home after shoping for my daughters birthday (tomorrow, she will be 5!!) and coming home feeling like a terrible mother for not saving ahead of time and being able to throw another fun filled birthday party this year i log on and have 2 e-mailed in my box. so i read it and it says

"This message is to confirm the receipt of your payment for membership and the activation of your membership. Thank you for your purchase! Your support helps continue to develop and expand the site."

so here i am confused scratching my head, thinking hmm.. great now I'm going to have something bounch in my account, i thought maybe it automatically renewed it's self.. here's another overdraft fee... or I'm thinking someone screwed up and renewed me when i didn't pay.. who do i contact about this? yes i am one of those that will go back in the store to give the cashier back the extra dollar she gave me cause she didn't count right...

so i go to the next e-mail and it says
"Hi Monica,

I just applied a gift membership to your account, extending it another year. Another DPC user purchased for you and asked that I send it anonymously on their behalf.

Cheers,
Langdon"

I am so very thankful to whom ever did this for me. you really don't u nderstand how thoughtful i think you are whom ever you are. this has been the highlight of my day, week, and even month.

so whom ever you are thank you! and within a few months I should be back ahead of the bill game again and will with out a doub return this favor to someone else in need.

Thats awesome, I never really understood the difficulty of coming up with a measly $25us even ended up donating 3 memberships earlier this year... Long story short I ended up borrowing the money to renew...

Anyway Kudos to the anonymous donor, and glad to see you keep your blue shirt ;)

Yes... I think I'd still be a Registered User trying to save/justify the membership fee if not for the generosity of Moose408. The people here at DPC are a truly wonderful bunch (despite all this talk of trolls etc in the voting threads).

I TOTALLY understand it... Sometimes money's too tight...

How very thoughtful! I wish I could afford to make someone's day. Knowing my luck though, I'd end up getting one for somebody who wasn't interested and about to leave for good!

Thanks Prash, although totally deserving IMHO, I had nothing to do with Photomom1981's membership. There is a LOT of others that I know have donated memberships and Im proud to call some of them REALY good friends. I was just doing better at the time, had the spare cash earlier in the year and decided to put it toward something/someone good ;)

Back on topic... Hat's off also to Photomom1981 for sharing her story as well :)

yes, had you asked me 7 months ago about $25 dollars, I would have never thought it's be an issue either! then again 7 months ago, i had 2 jobs, a student loan, and child support.. ha

This reminds me of a story I heard about how one person paid for the person behind them in line at a Starbuck's. That person then paid for the person behind them. This trend continued throughout the entire day.

This is excellent... I hope more people give the gift of membership and those that are gifted return the favor to someone else. A very upstanding thing to do for someone.
