I'm finding my comments really funny this week: they seem to be arriving in pairs.

e.g., One comment says 'really love the background' then exact following comment ays 'really good but I hate the background'

and then a few comments later one that says 'I think I would crop this tighter' followed immediately by 'I'd prefer if you'd cropped it a bit wider'

Not saying any of these are wrong in and of themselves, but it is funny how they are showing up side by side...

You just beat me to posting about this. I am getting exactly the same kinds of comment pairs. It think it must mean the attributes in question are perfect. ;-)

I have some theories on cropping.. there are certian things that I don' mind being close to the edge of the frame and others that really bug me... If an object is close to the edge of the frame, and it constrasts sharply with the background, it bugs me a little... if it creates a thin sliver of constrast, i don't care for it. I like those objects to have a little extra breathing room. If the object is not contrasting strongly with the background, it doesn't seem to bother me as much most times :)

Yup, I think you made a similar comment about my Stop sign entry for the last challenge. The reason was there was a small green bush sticking into the frame on the lower right hand side. Normally I'd have just cloned it out with some blue sky and there would have been
comfortable room around the sign. But rules are rules...

The constraints imposed by the rules force us to finesse the most from our cameras. Unfortunately, sometimes post processing is needed to overcome the limitations of our equipment and/or environment. I would have fixed the moiré pattern on the radiator of my tractor shot ''I Once Worked on a Farm'' had the rules allowed and probably would have scored notably higher. Nonetheless I was pleased with the response from the voters.

I have recieved the least amount of comments ever,.. just 11 for 162 votes. Maybe the image has stuned the viewer so much that they could not come up with anything to say ( or maybe its so dull they just pass on by). Althought the 11 comments are very positive.
