Hi, I've just downloaded the free trial Photomatix and am having problems with ghosting along rooftops etc. Is it something I'm doing wrong or is it part and parcel of Photomatix.

Are you using a tripod when you shoot?

For that matter, are you shooting multiple exposures, or working from a single one?

Yes I've been using a tripod and 3 exposures. I've had some pretty good results it's just that bright spots seem to appear where there weren't any before.

There are numerous sliders/adjustments you can make in the Details Enhancer or Tone Compressor tabs while Tone Mapping. The extremes can cause ghosting...experiment with the various settings to get a more natural look.

There are plenty of examples of various levels of HDR images in the HDR Challenge that ran a couple years ago.

Some of what you're seeing is inherent in HDR, especially when it's applied strong. As glad2badad said, play with the sliders and see if that doesn't help. With HDR, less is often more.

Also, not all scenes are meant to be HDR - I find that sometimes, the exposures just don't come together well.
