I'm just curious why this scored so low. Other game type shots scored in the 6's. A caged cat scored higher. And since I only received 2 comments, that really didn't tell me anything, I'd like to know. So can I please get some feedback?

Thanks guys, and agree with the monopoly one. I scored it high. But what's with the caged animal scoring higher? Sheesh.

Yes, it can be frustrating when somewhat shoehorned entries -- those that rely on the titles to connect to the challenge theme -- do better than those that meet the theme visually.

You're comparing the subjects of images. You should be looking at images, as if these were objects themselves.

Good point.

I voted your's higher than the Monopoly pic and I still think it's better. I didn't do well either...I guess my dogs aren't cute enough (5 people gave me 1's). Freakin' wiener dog haters...lol!

Here's some others that did better (not including the cat in the cage)...
'Firewire'- Cool, but doesn't really express 'play' to me. (maybe playing with sparklers?)
'What Goes Up'- Has nothing to do with play (except it's a child?)
'Tennis Anyone'- Sorry, I just don't get the message or humor. Tennis is a game, but where's the play?
'Wanna Play?'- Bondage shots always seem to well.
'Playing Mom'- Looks like caring for your kid, not playing with your kid.
'No More Energy Left to Play'- Dog sleeping, not playing.
'Coochy Coo'- Doesn't even look like she's playing coochy coo. (See 'Playing Mom')
'Child's Play'- No play...title dependant.
'Weekend Hobby'- Is taking pictures 'playing'...your call? (at least I think that's what he's doing in the pic)

...and what's with all the fishing pics? I know it's a sport and technically you play a sport, but I never expected so many of them. Seems like a few were 'nature' photos that just happened to have a fishing boat in them...maybe?

I'm not criticizing the photo's (they're all fine...some are great), just how loosely they meet the challenge yet all scored higher.

Meeting the Challenge has never really been a prerequisite for entering a challenge or scoring well with the voters.

So true.

Except when when it is your photo that might just be a little bit DNMC -- then you get totally hammered with DNMC votes :)
