Guys,

It might not be a big deal for many, but for a novice like me, this is a great news.

I had submitted 5 images to Dreamstime, and three of them have been accepted in first attempt. I cant believe it. Woo hoooo!!! :-)

I'm having an acceptance rate of less than 40% and I'm excited every time I receive email from iStock on my accepted submission (they pixel peep too much LOL). I gets even more excited when someone download my image.

Good for you indeed ... I have been procrastinating about submitting my photos to stock for years - hope to read a post soon about your many sales!

I just checked the shots in your portfolio, those are really good. Just give it a try. If you want to make more, go ahead with those macro agencies like Alamy.

Nice shots. I'd recommend to care more for keywords and categories, though, Look, which keywords others use for similar images and in which categories they place them (I don't think "Business" and "Insurance" are proper categories for a shot of smoke)

Thanks for the advice. I was hoping a GEICO rep would catch this, but may be not:-)

I have couple of times shots being rejected at iStock because of improper keyword. I found them to be very "strict". I'm not sure of other micro stock agencies do the same... sometimes iStock is nice enough to remove the keyword and still give it a go.

Wow. Congratulations! I'm not a stock shooter myself, but I wish you the best of luck. Keep us informed eh? :)

Congratulations Prash! And good luck with DT! DT is one of my favorite and best earning agencies. I added you also to my favorite photographer list at DT. I agree with eyewave that you need to keyword better towards what is in the picture. If someone is looking for smoke, then this person probably won't search with the word "gecko" and if a buyer is searching for gecko's he/she will find it strange to find a image of smoke.

Here is an only tool that my help you with keywording //arcurs.com/keywording/

Here is a site I found that is really interesting, gives great tips that seem to be helpful, discusses various stock agencies and the author keeps it updated. I am sorry I don't know how to make the linky thing
