Yup - That is Five Thousand Two =Hundred mm (I guess would appear a little more on a croped sensor). Shame about auto focus, so not great for local sports (I mean the minimum focus is likely in the next town, so you could never use it for local sports). Wonder what bag would you use?

And since it's on the internet AND eBay, it must be good :-) eBay

Christ almighty.

I'm surprised it's cheaper than the 1200 f/5.6.

It's a mirror lens, so no huge chunks of expensive glass. Besides, Once you add shipping, are you sure it's cheaper then the 1200mm :-)

You mean a mirror telescope?

Wonder if it has IS?

$55,000 and it's not even an L lens. I'll pass. :)

No, just huge chunks of expensive glass mirrors.

Maybe you shouldn't use it on a plastic mount.

Didn't someone just win the lottery. They should buy this and tell us if it's good for birding.

I wouldn't mind the 800mm f3.8 they built at the same time as this one. Along with a 2000mm f11.

Do crumpler make a bag to fit?

Does it come in other colors?

Is that a dustbin lid in his hands or is that the lens cap?

So many questions, so few $'s - and I could buy it and still not ribbon here - GRIN!

Ohhh, I want it.
I'll mortgage the house and get it.
Oh, wait a minute, my bank just went belly up.

I have one of these, I use it with my 680mm extension tube. I can shoot macros of moon rocks- on the moons of Jupiter.

When I'm not using it I rent it out to college students as a two bedroom condo.
