He-he. When I read the new challenge this morning I was like "who the F posted this as a suggestion?!" :-D

Should be interesting (read "controversial") for sure. Let the fun begin!

I don't think I get abstract. I am not even sure I like it to be honest.

I absolutely LOVE that photo. It was an instant 'Favorite' the first time I saw it.

Now the question becomes...what 'Emotion' gets applied to this photo? How would you title this shot for the challenge?

ETA - 'Chaos' is the first thing that comes to mind for me on this image.

The title at the time was "Ode to Joy". I'd still title it that, too.

the challenge reminds me of one of the topics i had to take photos of for an application on one of the photography schools in berlin.
last year it was "Abstract:Euphoria" and this year "Abstract:Globalization"
first thing when i openend the letter and read that topic was "WTF %$"&?!?!" LOL
i had 2 weeks to come up with something for that one and 4 other topics and then send in the prints.

guess my ideas weren't good enough since i didn't pass...
anyways here's what i came up with for that "Abstract:Globalization" thing:

Query: since when is "chaos" an emotion?

Very clever, Bearhopper.
You have seen through my subtle ploy to instill confusion among the other contestants.

Would "abstract emotion" be what you felt when you first read the challenge subject?
09/22/2008 10:52:06 AM · #17
Probably, but how can you get that many swear words into a picture!!!!! lol

I think that bvy's profile picture is an abstract emotion

oy... i think i gotta stay out of this one unless something strikes me like a brick on the head... but I doubt it.

lot of thinking out side of the box type challenges lately...

those don't go over too great here on dpc.

There was even a poll making it clear which challenge types were most desired as I recall.

Well at least the abstract b&w challenge taught me what abstract is (or more accurately isn't!).
