I'm gonna be in the Bay Area (Los Altos Hills specifically) from Oct 1 to Oct 14. Dealing with family illness issues. Not sure what my schedule will be. Might be a good break to meet up with some of our NoCal members. Possibility of overnight jaunt to Carmel, depends on a few factors, but there's a condo available there. Anyone interested?

OMG!!! I'm free the 5th and the 12th...any Sunday really. I have to go to work right now, but you might want to ask PhilipDyer, sfalice, Rasai, and faidoi. I went with them on a GTG in March

I'm sure I can find some free time during that period! I'd like to bring Isaac along if possible ...

Great to hear this, Robert. That would be fantastic. For scheduling, I have both the 11th and 12th free, but dang, not the weenend of 4 & 5th.

Of course us retirees have time free during the week too...

Let us know your plans as they develop.

Again, terrific news.

Love to join you for a meet up and shoot, and carmel is a great place (among many) to do it. Weekend of the 11th and 12th is best for me, too, but might be able to make the prior weekend work, too.

(The Hardly Strictly Bluegrass festival is at Golden Gate Park the weekend of the 3-5th, and might make an alternate meet up event if your interests incline in that direction. Linky)

Hi, Robert. I'd love to meet up with you guys to go shooting around the Bay Area. I'm sorry about the reason for your visit, but hopefully we'll be able to brighten up your trip a bit. I'm looking forward to meeting you and to seeing all the other Bay Area DPCers again!

Just had a chance to pop back in. Still no word on how free my schedule will be. Maybe at the very elast we can arrange for everyone to meet where I am at one evening and we can have me cook a BBQ? Jejeje™

I'll keep ya posted...

NOW you're talking!
Some of Bear_Music's legendary cooking!
I'll vote for that any day.

A pot-luck BBQ in Los Altos Hills sounds good to me!

Looks as if it's Bear_Music's call as he has to work around his schedule
while he's in the area.

FINALLY heard back from my sister, who was out of town. I'm flying to San Jose (yes, I know the way) tomorrow, arriving in the early PM. I have her OK to have visitors tot he house for dinner, and I have her OK to take a side trip to Carmel Condo for a few days if the health-care schedule permits. But at this moment I don't know what are feasible dates (I fly home on the 14th...) except that dinner on the 12th looks quite possible I think.

If I do go down to Carmel, it will almost surely be midweek next week. If anyone's free to join me down there we have a couple beds. I am hankering to do some Big Sur photos...

I'll post in here when I have a contact phone number for y'all. meanwhiles, who's potentially on? Just a day trip in the Bay Area for some shooting is doable also....

Sound off, peoples...

Well, Bear_Music, it looks as if you're almost here.

My revised calendar tells me I have lots of time next week 6-11) (except Wednesday) for day trips, etc.

Unfortunately, the 12th got filled in with an opera performance that I ordered a year ago
but didn't think to put in my book until the tickets arrived a little while ago.

In any event, we can see what time(s) the other Bay Area people have free and make something happen while
you're here.

I'll keep an eye on this thread Robert. A day thing may work next week and I'd love to meet you and other DPC'rs. I'm sorry for the issues that prompted your visit but hope you can enjoy your trip. Mark

I'll have Isaac with me this weekend, but not the later one. I think I'll have to pass on Carmel mid-week ... :-(

I might be able to do a Bay Area day trip Wednesday-Friday afternoons.

You sure you don't wanna rethink that? I spent like half my life at Big Sur, sometimes it seems like, so I know my way around, and this is free lodging and an in-house chef at Carmel. We could have a great time...

Actually, I don't mean to single out the Generale, it just seems like he might be on the fence and amenable to persuasion. This is a great chance, people... We can sleep a bunch of us if some bring mattress pads and sleeping bags. We have a master bedroom and another room with twin beds...

I would like to join you Robert if my work schedule permits. Unfortunately it is a day to day thing almost to know when I am going to work right now. This also means I should be able at some point to come to Carmel for a day. :) I am pretty sure the weekends will not be good for me though. Hope to meet up with you.

I expect Carmel to be in the middle of next week...

I could probably get Wednesday off, but I have to be at work in Berkeley at 6am Thursday, and I'm already taking this Thursday off. I might be able to make it as a long day trip, but I'm not sure I can handle that much driving in one day.

Well, I'm in Los Altos now, on an uncmfortable computer...

Looks like I'm dropping people off at San Francisco airport tomorrow morning around 7:30 AM, so I'm planning to spend the day in the SF area tomorrow, no set time I need to be back down here.

Any takers to hook up with me in SF manana? I'll check back in here as timer permits.

I don't know about tomorrow, but I did manage to get Thursday morning off, so my chances of getting to Carmel are improved, if that still might happen midweek.

Hey Robert --

If its not pouring rain as forecast tomorrow, I'm up for an a.m. shoot, but need to head back to the East Bay by early afternoon.
