Show why your homeland makes you proud. Produce a photo that shows the pride and joy of your homeland.

OK, how about this?

Or maybe we should just swallow our pride and do a flag challenge ....

Well, then it should be prohibited to include US Stars and Stripes in the images...! If there's nothing more to be proud of than a piece of textiles, it is not worthy the bother of making pictures.

The following week's challenge could be "what do you hate about your country"... it would make a fascinating contrast.

Picture of a gentleman named Paul Ferguson, a Pearl Harbor survivor, from HQ. SQD. 18th Bomb Wing, Hickam Field. He was at an air show in Addison TX on Veteran's Day, 2001 and spent over half an hour with my then-8-year-old son, explaining to Andre' what he remembered hearing, seeing, feeling, and even smelling during the attack. It was an amazing moment, to witness my child hearing about history from a man who lived it. This is just one example of why I love my homeland.

Thanks for sharing this image! It is very much like a "Norman Rockwall" painting that adorned the covers of Life magazine years ago - but most of the DPCers have never heard of him most likely.

Thanks...I hope you all enjoy it. It's not one of those technically correct pictures, but oh well...and I bet more have heard of Rockwell than you think! ;)

well I am proud of things that us humans have not messed up
is that weird??

Not at all weird. But you might want to find a back up 'cuz those things are getting fewer all the time.

But I think his main stomping ground was The Saturday Evening Post.
