What's supposed to run on that site? All I get is a very dark picture of the moon with a shape of a camera in front of it. Hmmm.

thats all I get too ... I'm guessing it's just a teaser ... dangle that carrot in front of our faces, just slightly out of reach ...

Maybe day after day, something new will show up.

Well, that one confirms that it's not a 1D-series body, and given that they've already announced the 50D, it can only really be the 5DII now, yay! :D

It is a FF camera at least, the increase in size of the viewfinder prism is noticeable. There is also no sign for built-in-flash.

Indeed, I was going to post that this morning, but didn't get around to it.

I also extracted the JPEGs from the SWF file on the UK site, just to see if it showed more than the preview does... just slightly:

And the moon site:

Nothing special here, but they do look different.

I was looking at that too, thinking it was a pop up flash with that line across the front, so I did some comparisons. It could be just the seam of the body to the lens mounting plate (or whatever that's called). Cameras with pop-ups are more flat and square(ish) on the body in front of where the pop-up flash is on 20-50D cameras, which would show in the moon pic, and also are not as tall on that top part. A little different all together in that area. I could be wrong though.

My sources say the 5D will be split into two lines, say a 3D and 7D although I can't promise those will be the names. Maybe you are seeing both cameras...

Nope, I am just interested in what will be the next generation of cameras. I will stay with Nikon and keep using my D200 for several more years!

The 12-24 mm tokina is a nice beast indeed!

You may be right...maybe Canon is going to introduce a more affordable model (3D? around 2000-2500$?)for serious hobbyists? In any event, the next few days are gonna be interesting.

The main issue I see with this new model is the size. Okay, they might have needed to fit new features in, but to make it half the size of the moon just seems impractical to me.

Hi,

From what I can see from lightening the screen shot from the canon.com site, it appears as though it may have an integral grip... I can't seem to add an image here tho?
