I'm up late, so I'll make the inaugural post. Here's a trio of end results, a kind of Neapolitan IR:

I'm going to post this in here since I don't know if people will migrate to the old forum. This site has some info Digital IR photography but they also have an Action for Cs and CS2 that will color swap and do some adjustments(that can all be fine tuned. It's a pretty cool action and I use it from time to time. The action is close to the bottom of page on the link, hope some will find it useful.

My replacement IR filter hasn't arrived, so I went out and took this shot at night. Accoridng to the exif, the F717 went to ISO 2500 (normal light 800 is the limit on these old guys). Which is why it is plenty grainy. This is only cropped, no other editing. I decided I like the grain, and the "night vision" green colors.

Here's my first offering of the month. I didn't get to venture too far away, as this one was taken about 10 feet from the front door. It's a garden chicken! I think I'll put some effort into the side challenge, as I'm kind of disenchanted with the regular challenges lately. And I'll try to comment on everyone's pic starting tomorrow.

For now, I am just posting to mark the thread so it will be easier for me to find later. I have been busy editing though a bunch of wedding photos (my first wedding shoot- last minute call from a co-worker). Should have some IR in another day or two. Even if I don't get new stuff, I do have several days of older things (just in the last week or so) I haven't even touched. Things are off to an interesting start with a nice variety of images. Thanks to everyone for participating and sharing and to trevytrev for putting it all together! Maybe a link here to the other thread including the editing suggestions in it.

OK- got out for a bit today visiting La Jolla to do some errands and brought my converted IR camera with me.

getting a jump on day 3, as I might not be around tomorrow... this is made with a zone plate, so OOF is expected and intentional

also, I have other older-post IR shots in my portfolio here, if anyone wants to take a wander

Any better than the first? I stuck with this subject just to see if I can get the PP down. I used the crop for the WB.

I was so anxious for this to start that I completely forgot about it.

I'll start with my favorite from last month.

The Builder- a kinetic sculpture (the right arm moves) at the Museum of Contemporary Arts in La Jolla, CA.
I actually took it yesterday. It was shot with the camera set to black and white- I go back and forth and will sometimes shoot a subject in both the BW and color modes.
