That's one of the first things that occured to me. Hats off to the Icelandic contingent. Some great photogs among you. It's amazing that with such a small population there are so many members and registered users from there. How many are there from Iceland? Did any of you guys know each other beforehand? Just a curiosity.

Cheers,

Owen

What, both of them? Then who'll answer the phone back on the island.

Sorry, jk. Congratulations to Iceland's ambassadors of art. Good job.

With so many 10D owners, 24 hours of daylight, incredible landscapes, how can the Icelanders not win :) I believe they took top 3 a couple times.

I believe in June and July the sun is up for 24 hours and they have no night.

Don´t know how many we are here but there are quite few. I didn´t know any of them before a began to visit this site and I don´t know any of them personally jet.
Think there are many good photographers in Iceland and we have few very good representitives here, f. instance arnit and heida.
It´s true that in june and july the nights are bright and I´m looking forward for that time, then I will have got my Rebel.

try //www.leit.is you might find something about it there.

also in the summers when we got daylight 24/7 we skip sleeping and practice our photographing skills at night!

Maybe thats why we are so darn good;)

I won't make any cracks, but I will posit that some very good photography comes out of Iceland. As a bunch, they are consistently great!

But it all equals out since the rest of the year we dont see the sun and then we have to drink one glass of lysi and one of brennivin each morning.

Well, I'm Icelandic and i must say. Photographers from iceland are really doing a great job. As seen in these contests here on Dpchallenge. My hat off for my fellow icelanders.

Btw. Summer rocks here, but many tourists can't sleep because how bright it is here in the summer. They have to blindfold themselves at nights :)

I work at a travel agency and read the travel magazines that come in and recently, all of them have articles about Iceland and how beautiful it is. Apparently, Iceland is the place to be these days.
