I've been looking into VanArts school and taking their Digital Photography 1 year diploma program. The thing that I'm having a hard time with is the fact that tuition is $22,900. The schools around me (I'm in Alberta) don't seem to have the same quality of program and most are still film oriented and I'd rather digital. SO, is that an unreasonable amount of money??? Of course, it is a load but is it worth it, that's my main question. Can I get the same quality at 1/2 the cost somewhere else? Also, if anyone has some reccommended schools to look into I'd be much obliged. I would rather stay around Alberta and BC but I'm open to options.

Thanks in advance!!

Did you look at the NAIT or SAIT programs? What about BCIT?

or ...

There's also digital media schools in both Edmonton and Calgary. The one in Edmonton is called Guru Digital Arts College ( //www.gurudigitalarts.com/info.html ).

I had neveer heard of NYIP before or considered online courses. Def. something to look into.

And NAIT and SAIT seem so un-artsy. I've been looking at the NAIT program but it doesn't seem to compare to a lot of other schools.

Study Desk thread

Look around this thread, it has many options besides the tried and true.
