I still have my Pentax Asahi SP1000 with its bayonet mount and lenses. That camera, I would take to war, to be used as a weapon, not a camera, lol.

Good riddance!

Pentax to Canon is one heck of a downgrade. At least I improved my lot in life!

So if you're just going to toss that piece of Pentax junk, send it my way?

You have to say the magic words 3 times for the truck to arrive....

Nikon Sux
Nikon Sux
Nikon Sux

Click your heals together and go outside, your truck will be there

Not sure what lenses you have for Pentax, but bear in mind that you can save one of them and use it to reverse-mount in front of a Canon lens for extreme macro work :-)

Now I know what my problem is! I just need a new piece of glass! That one obviously only captures images that score over 7.0.

I can't help but look at this pic and think how much sharper and clearer it would be with a Pentax. tsk, tsk, tsk.... :)

Seriously, enjoy the new cam.

Oh, darn. It's already scratched and falling apart...

*Just some musings*

All I can say is...my first SLR ever was a Pentax K1000.

Then I got s Samsung Digimax 2.01mp.

Then I got a Canon Powershot D700, 6.1 mp (and it took my 2 highest-ever scoring dpc pics, to date).

Then I got a Nikon D40, my first ever DSLR, and it's doing well, we're still getting to know each other...

...but I often wonder what shots that Pentax K1000 would give me now if it were a DSLR?

*musings over, you may now resume your regularly scheduled dpc madness*

meh... you'll come crawling back when you get sick of all those Canon issues;

noise
error-99
feezing
mirror lock-ups
grips falling off
poor customer service, etc etc, the list goes on...

So sure, go ahead, enjoy! ;P

I had to move on to canon because of pentax issues. K100 Pentaxians here wont admit, but it had severe low light focusing issues. And if u google it you'll see that the issues are real. Nothing worse than waiting for lock focus and have people asking u to hurry u'r ass up n take the shot.

Also! the roadmap for the lens roll out was full of potholes (like my country :) I've been looking for this so called 60-250 f4 forever among other pentax lens. The rebel xt maybe bottom of the pile, but it locks on focus most of the time. And the USM is sweEEEet.

I still use the pentax and will never sell it. I need the infrared aspect as well. I also prefer to be in more than one camps.
