I saw this on a friend's blog a few weeks ago.

Crazy. Abso-freakin-lutely crazy.

Even crazier is there will be those who sign up for it.

sheesh... $40! For what?....storage space?

Unfortunately they will make money. Seems too easy, but I don't think I could sleep at night if I started a site like that.

Wouldn't that stink for the program if they found that none of them went in the rapture?

Somehow there has to be a Barnum involved in this.

Probably. What was it PT Barnum is accredited with saying, "There's a sucker born every minute."

However, all of the Christians that I know think it is just as ludicrous as all of the non-Christians that I know.

man, this just makes me so angry. i'm agnostic, always have been, but taking advantage of people just pisses me off. there must be some law against this?

Glad I'm not the only one thinks this is ludicrous :-)

I wonder if this will be the first-ever posting on DPC General Forum that is A. related to religion, and B. there is no disagreement about?

I'm sure there are plenty of gullible takers. Yet, I have to ask... how is this any different than those tv preachers who beg for money, chanting "send us your money, because God wants you to."?

Because at least with those guys, they always manage to smack someone in the face and yell 'YOU HAVE BEEN CURED!!!' which makes me giggle.

"gullible" is the operative word. If people would start using just half their brains, they'd realize how utterly absurd it is to believe in the supernatural (i.e., god, soul, afterlife, and similar crap), let alone give such idiots their money.

Forgive me for my questions as I am ignorant when it comes to this stuff, but it says

"We have set up a system to send documents by the email, to the addresses you provide, 6 days after the "Rapture" of the Church. This occurs when 3 of our 5 team members scattered around the U.S fail to log in over a 3 day period. Another 3 days are given to fail safe any false triggering of the system."

Ok I had to look up Rapture...but anywhoo...are they asking Christians to send documents to the people they think wont make it or rise or whatever it is the Christians think they're gonna do? I mean I dont understand why people would be sending documents. If they are rising or whatever how can they check their email? Won't they all be gone?

Even though I dont believe this is going to happen. If it DID happen and God was here. Why would I be checking email?? LOL. Actually, I'd probably be listening to my boyfriend saying I told you so.

Person working the 'big button' there when the Rapture happens:

"Hold on God, I'm coming... I just have some emails to send out first."

It's an automated email system that will go "live" when a certain number of "team members" fail to "check in" for 5 or 6 days. The documents "stored" are so that you can supposedly give bank account info, etc. to your "friends" rather than letting the government send it

but as a christian person, when the rapture comes, are you really worried about your bank account?!?!? This is another way to fraud people using religion.

and WHY would anyone from the church be around after the rapture?? If they believe in God shouldnt they be taken during the rapture? I thought the only ones left behind were those who didnt believe in Christ??
