There will be a LOT of dpc'ers and Excellent photographers in Calgary From approx. July 3-9, there is a GTG on Sunday July 6th. Is that close to Vancouver?

Come on down!
You might possibly be able to register for the seminar, too.

I was looking at going to Calgary on the 6th but these other things got in the way, Mom's birthday and parents 50th.

I'm in Vancouver starting on the 9th.

... and no, Calgary's not close to Vancouver. It's about 1200km east. ;o)

I'm just north of Seattle in Everett most of the time, of course for half of July I will be in Europe, but if you want to come down let me know.

Everett isn't that far but I'll be minus a car so won't be possible this trip.

Thanks for the offer though.

Yea I know the car feeling, when I moved here I sold my jeep and am rolling car-less currently too.

join some of the vancouver flickr groups. the strobist one meets at least once per month, and some of the other groups organize photowalks n stuff...

I wont be around, unfortunately.

Good idea. I'll have to check into that.

I'm totally up for a GTG in Vancouver! :) Let me know when.

On the 11th (Friday) I have tentative plans to meet ellamay in Stanley Park. You're welcome to join us.
I'm still working out details for that.

Also, any day during the following week works for me. One of my favourite places is the Reiffel Bird Sanctuary in Ladner. I will definitely be going there during my visit to Vancouver.

I'll post dates and meeting times once I've worked it out.

Any suggestions for other meeting points are welcome.

Granville Island is always interesting as well. Just not on Monday.

Wish I could :(
But moving on Sunday, leaving Thurs for Calgary GTG, home from it Wed the 9th, somehow I don't think hubby would appreciate me jumping back on the ferry right away and leaving him (again) with move/cleaning/unpacking.

Any other takers? Sunday the 13th?

edit: I know there's a few night owls on the west coast.

I will be in northern BC in August...

The 11th has come and gone. The plans changed so no notice was given though ellamay and I did meet up, just not at the aquarium.

I'll be in Victoria on the 14th but probably won't have any time to meet up with anyone. Maybe another time.

Where abouts?

I will primarily be staying in Terrace, B.C. I hope to travel around...I do that every summer, but home base is in Terrace. We will either take the Ferry from Rupert down to Port Hardy or thinking of going up the Cassier Hwy up toward Dease Lake. Not sure yet.

My big tip is spend some time around Stewart/Hyder, if you haven't already. Tons of fun stuff to do around there, some things to remember, and some that you definitely wont!

Been there...done that...twice. Took the ferry through the inside passage last year to Alaska and the year prior spent some time on the Queen Charlotte Islands. There is just so much to see...I love northern B.C....can't get enough of it. I welcome suggestions always. thanks

Hmm, well I'm out of suggestions then. Maybe drive up to Boya lake if you haven't seen that yet? I love northern BC as well, but most of my time spent up there is a flight to Terrace, drive to Bob Quinn, and then a chopper flight into the boonies from there... most of the places I'd like to recommend are helicopter access only!

Where's Boya Lake...haven't been there. The person I stay with is on Lakelse Lake by the Airport.

Boya Lake is a few hours north of Dease, on the Cassiar hwy... the water is 100+ ft deep, but you can see right to the bottom. Google it!
