How many folks have purchased a new camera or accessories since finding or joining DPC?

Not me. And i quite using film.
I am however using more gasoline and electricity. Of course i am sleeping less, so my sheets and mattress will last longer.

I use more electricity, definatly, and i use a lot more AA batteries for my flash, but I plan on going to sams club this week, and picking up two sets of rechargeables and a 15 min charger. Maybe a 1 hr charger. I dunno.

I think its the other way around. People buy their first digital camera and then stumble onto this site.

After they are here awhile, then I think they buy a better camera :) So DPC can take that credit.

True, then the upgrading bug happens :)

I've spent to the value of £1700 approx. simply to take pics on DPC. Canon G2 and Canon 300D, plus lenses, CFs, tripods, bags. It's the most expensive website I've ever joined.

I definitely think seeing what can be done here makes one want better equipment. I've already spent plenty since joining dpc, but I still want a better camera. Luckily for my bank account the perfect camera (for my purposes) doesn't exist. Not yet, anyway.

Well without a doubt, I have followed what appears to be the "classic" DPC scenario, that is, buy a basic camera, start poking around online, discover DPC, become significantly obsessed with photography, then catch the DSLR bug.
I almost definitely would not have felt the need to upgrade last year if my photography had not improved so drastically, a situation brought about as a direct result of this site. So there's no doubt in my mind that DPC is at the root of my ...er... significant outlay in joining the DSLR crowd.

Without this site, my photography would not have been half as good, neither would my creativity. This site has helped me improve SSOOO much, like A LOT, a lot, A lot. Seriously.

Since finding DPC I have saved a bundle of money because it keeps me out of the Malls. I seem to spend all my spare time looking for the perfect shot for the next challenge. It's GREAT!!!

And the more I learn, the more I want to learn more... and more ....

Just bought a new camera and now my computer is too frikken slow to process RAW files efficiently. So now I need a new computer, not to mention lenses, filters, tripod, etc. The Canadian government just loves me!!

edit: Like others, I too stumbled on this site after buying my first camera. Despite my constant whining, it is a cool spot.

There's alot of it going around! And to make matters worse, I now find I have terminal "L" disease! What's the Nikon equivalent?

I think that would be "ED-IF" syndrome.

Hey, don't forget to mention gasoline! And toll fees maybe... commute fare too. But its all very rewarding :D I still have no idea what to submit for the next challenge though. Mainly due to lack of time. Off to work 6am, back from work 9pm... :( I'll see what i can come up with this weekend.
