In shopping for a camcorder I came across this.

Yeah a friend of mine told me he ran into someone who was trying to convince him that video is the new format for still photo.

I can understand the thought process and see why this would be ideal but I can also see where most people (like me) who would have a hard time letting go of the still camera.

Certainly it won't replace any kind of commercial photography, but I can kind of understand where it might come into play with photojournalism.
