papabob went to a wildlife photo club in Colorado and entered these photos into their contest.

1st Place!

3rd Place!

I am proud of him and I know that this really means lots to him, so congrats!

Congrats to your dad. Well deserved.

Awesome. Good thing he didn't enter them here on DPC though, he would've come away from the experience thinking they sucked. I stand corrected. I see "Winter Wonderland" came in pretty high in a freestudy.

He got a 6.5 on the one! lol

DPC is probably if not definitly the reason that his images were of high enough quality to place in this contest. Without DPC it would have been many years before his images would have been the same quality that they are now.

Thanks everyone, yospiff I got a kick out of your comment and yes actually both images were tried out here first... The King Vulture (someone had to tell me what it was...lol) image had a different crop and did not do to bad at 6.04. Just goes to show you, the compitetion here is tough and makes you better.

That hurt.... (he's referring to the use of a tri-pod on a table top shot, DQ was for stupidity in setting camera date, he saw me take it and knows it was legal but likes to rub it in)

Cathy, it is the Mile High Photo Club of Denver, they meet the second Wednesday of each month at the Wildlife Exhibit building in Parker, CO. There are some really talented people in the club, both amatuer and Pro's. I only started going the last couple of months but I have seen some really nice work and some good presentations by the members.

Dang spelling!

I'm extremely jealous...of you being in Colorado...oh and doing so well in the contest too ;). I miss Colorado and haven't been able to make it back there since I've picked up photography, but my hopes are high for after I retire.

Don't be too jealous of Colorado. It is like 38 degrees and snow/raining on May 15th. I want to go some place warm.

Isn't it like here though (Canada), wait 5 minutes and it'll change to 80 degrees with 100% humidity. lol
